Gave my first sermon in our church today. It went well, at least I got some positive feedback. Although it was my first speech in our current church, it was not my first speech ever. It was fun to see some people react surprised, asking ‘if I had done this before’ \ud83d\ude42
I was assigned the verses Ephesians 4:11-13, in line with the sermon series on Paul’s letter to Ephesians. The topic of this verses is what generally is called the ‘five-fold ministry’. Some people see this as some kind of biblical leadership framework – actually I do as well. To keep it relevant to all of us, I chose to give an overview of the five ministries (apostle, prophet, evangelist, shepherd and teacher), explaining the meaning of each, refering back to the Ultimate Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Shepherd and Teacher Jesus, not going to deep in prophetic teaching on how leadership in church should be.
A lot of our youth was at Soul Survivor, and interestingly, I read at Marc van der Woude’s weblog <\/a>that there was a presentation on the five-fold ministry there as well…<\/p>\n
